Annual Tree Sale
The Washburn County Land & Water Conservation Department is sponsoring a program where landowners may purchase native pine trees and native perennial wildflowers. The pine trees are 4-year transplants and sold in packets of 25. Species included are: Norway Pine (Red Pine), White Pine, Norway Spruce, White Spruce, Black Hill Spruce, and Colorado Blue Spruce. The native perennial wildflowers are suitable for habitat restoration. They are sold in flats of 48 to 60 plants, depending on the collection purchased. Orders are placed with the office beginning in January of the year until supplies are depleted. All sales are on a first-come, first-served basis. Tree pickup occurs in mid April. Order forms will be available starting in January on the website or may be picked up at the Land & Water Conservation office in the County Courthouse in Shell Lake or you can call the office at 715-468-4654.
