Land & Water Quality Improvement Program
The Washburn County Land & Water Quality Improvement Program is focussed
on water quality improvement through the reduction of nutrient and sediment
delivery to area water resources. Essentially, this program is the
implementation phase of the County Land & Water Resource Management Plan.
Through the funding associated with the Plan, the county is able to provide cost-share dollars as well as technical assistance to eligible landowners in order to install Best Management Practices that benefit water quality. Some eligible Best Management Practices Include:
- Barnyard runoff control systems
- Diversions and drop spillway structures (rock and sod chutes)
- Grassed Waterways
- Shoreline Protection
- Vegetated Buffers
- Nutrient Management Planning
- Wetland Restorations . . . and more
