Immunizations

Public Health offers childhood immunizations at no cost through the Wisconsin Vaccine for Children Program. http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/vis/

Description of Program

Immunization has been called the most important public health intervention in history, after safe drinking water. It has saved millions of lives over the years and prevented hundreds of millions of cases of diseases.

  • Immunizations are offered at NO COST at the Washburn County Public Health Department. A $5 donation is accepted for supplies. If immunizations are covered by your insurance policy (and you can check by calling the customer service number on your ID card), you may obtain your vaccinations at your medical clinic. Badger Care Plus and many HMO’s cover vaccinating children and adults.
  • A parent/legal guardian must accompany any minor child to sign the consent. If the parent/guardian is unable to come to the appointment, print and complete the Vaccine Administration Record and send it with the person accompanying the child.
  • A current immunization record is required to receive immunizations. Washburn County Health Department can access electronic records on RECIN and Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR).
