Child Support Updates
Lien DocketLast year the Wisconsin Lien Docket threshold was reduced to $500.00. In the event a payer owes $500.00 or more in past due child support, they are placed on the Wisconsin Lien Docket.
Once you are placed on the lien docket, there are
only two ways to be removed. You may enter into an alternative payment plan or
you may pay the lien in full. In the event you are going to pay your account off
in full, please call the agency and request a payoff letter. This letter will
need to be sent along with your payment in order for a satisfaction of lien to
be issued.
As always, past due child support accrues interest at the rate of 1% per month
or 12% per year.
Annual Report
The 2004 Annual Report for the agency has been completed. Anyone requesting a
copy of the report can do so by calling 715-468-4632.
Debit Card
The Wisconsin Child Support
Program is working with JP Morgan Chase to offer the VISA Debit Card service to all who receive
support (child support, family support and spousal support/alimony). When the Wisconsin Support Collections Trust Fund receives support payments
for you, they will deposit the payment into your debit card account instead of
mailing you a check. You do not have to apply for the debit card. By early 2008, almost all persons receiving support will be enrolled on
the debit card. Click here for more information about the debit card service.
